Religious Architecture projects
Congregation Mickve Israel
Location; Savannah, Georgia Size - 25,000 sfThe Sanctuary of this historic congregation is the second oldest in the United States (1896). It underwent a complete restoration and refurbishment including new heating and air conditioning, sound systems and restored interiors. The 1960’s “nonconforming” addition to the historic Sanctuary building was demolished to make way for a new expanded facility that more closely resembled the historic architecture of the original sanctuary structure and its surroundings. The addition included a new social hall, museum, gift shop, offices, library, meeting rooms, classrooms and lobby that joined the old to the new.
